Quazatron – Musik Arbeiter (33REC070)

“I don’t know exactly when I first listened to Kraftwerk, but I’m sure it was back in the 80’s. I rediscovered them in 1994 when I was 14 and I knew that I had listened to “The Model” and “The Robots” before. I had an interest in hip hop and techno then but after listening to them I remember the shock I experienced. How could these guys start playing this kind of music without having any reference to anything else? They were in their own music world and they were just creating their own style which shaped the sound of electronic music. This kind of music existed decades before they make their band, but it was them who made it sound club-friendly and danceable. There is a warm melancholy in their concept albums which reflects the juxtaposition between humans and machines. In several remixes of their tracks electronic producers, including myself, fail to reproduce this feeling and that’s why they were unique. But for them, I wouldn’t have the interest I have in electronic music and that’s why I decided to make this tribute, on my home computer, with respect to their history. Have fun!”
